I'm wondering if anyone has found an inexpensive source for 6-4 SOOW cable. I've looked at McMaster, Grainger etc. and the shortest I can find on E-bay is 25'. I know I can get the appliance style pigtail at Lowes but it's only about 4' long. I'm looking for about 10' and I already have the plug end. Any ideas?

And make sure you call around. I looked around my area for 8/4 SO and the prices varied from $1.29 to $3.50 per foot. I was amazed.

Got my 6-4 SO cord from a local electrical supply house...

I spent over $100 on 20' of SO cord, a range receptacle, and a Powergrip plug.

I got my 6-4 from thorpe electric, it was 1.86 a foot i think.... I paid more for 8-3 romex at Home Depot.

a 50 amp 4 prong plug is 12-15 dollars at home depot.

I assume SO cord is the rubber jacketed "extension cord" type material

Yeah it's waterproof and very flexible. I'm going to try Loeb Electric here in Columbus. I picked up a Hubbel plug from a surplus store for $5. They had every size SOOW cable up to 2ga 5 conductor but no 6-4. I did pick up some 10-3 cheap.

Sorry, I just saw this. No I ended up buying one off ebay, its nowhere near as flexible as i'd like it to be.
