Hey guys,

It seems to me every time I use dry ale yeast there isn't a white cream foam on top on the beer in the carboy or bucket. Does that mean its not fermenting quickly or at all?

Have the beers that you've used it on before fermented? Just because there isn't a big krausen doesn't mean it isn't fermenting, but your hydrometer should tell you.

yeah it is fermenting down just no krausen with the dry yeast is that normal sometimes?

What yeast is it? With S-04 i always have a fast and vigorous fermentation and S-05 is faily quick but the krausen takes a while to drop.

I think it has to do with how fast & vigorous the yeast gets going. Re-hydrated & starter fed yeast def seem to make some good amount of krausen.
