Looked pretty good on the ads.

Listened to an interview with Favereaux....(I don't care how you spell it;))

Sounds EPIC.

Han solo and James bond in the same flick from the director of Iron Man (the first one was AWESOME, just forget Ironman 2)

Definitely would be going tonight if we didn't have concrete plans....damned friends from out of town...

I don't get it. I just can't get past the "old wild west" meets sci-fi alien destruction.

it sounds like one of the worst plots ever developed. i might have to watch it just on principle.

Someone interviewed the producer and asked him about the plot. He said "Cowboys and Aliens pretty much says it all." The interviewer was a little confused. You could tell she wanted to say "That's a topic, not a plot," but at the same time thought maybe in a roundabout way he was telling her that there wasn't one.

Scroll down to the transcript:

Remember the cartoon the critic? Doesnt this seem like a movie he would review? "It Stinks!"

I was already at the "HOLLYWOOD SUCKS" point. I haven't been to the theatre in 2 years......LOVE Netflix unlimited streaming no discs.(WHY NO Disks? Because first run movies SUCK)

The interview with Favreaux is what convinced me. We'll see.

I think it's a great concept. But I'm a fan of westerns and the 1800's (I'm looking forward to the upcoming civil war zombie film Exit Humanity, that's in production right now.)

I just hope it lives up to the possibilities.

(I don't get why folks think the idea is un-original, setting an alien invasion picture is contemporary times has been pretty much played out, so why not do it in a different era?)

Then why not make some more original Westerns? "Unforgiven" was great. "Open Range" was great. "3:10 to Yuma" was great. The Coen's "True Grit" was great. To name a few.

I agree that the Alien/Western idea is f*cking dumb. Hollywood can munch my sack.

All good movies, but definitely not all original.

I would say the last "good" new movie I have seen was Avatar.

Avatar was a stupid rip off of pocahinis there are things online that prove this point. The only thing good about avatar was the graphics other then that it was just Europe invading America and killing the Indians. : end rant mug
Also cowboys and aliens is a stupid azz concept and will probably suck

Ever heard of Firefly? One of the best tv series ever.

Plus, I would watch Olivia Wilde play tiddlywinks.

i just wish i hadn't watched the movie first. i always find these type of shows on neflix after they've been canceled. it's weird being pissed that a great show is off the air years after it's already been gone.

I agree firefly rocked, but a space western is a fair bit different from whatever Cowboys and Aliens is.

And yes, Olivia Wilde makes my private place very tingly.

saw it last night and was not impressed

Thanks for the only "review" from somebody who has seen it.

Honestly, since Indiana Jones IV, I decided that Han solo was washed up. (that movie SUCKED) AND....after Casino ROYALE (AWESOME) the next 007 movie SUCKED......AND the Director of IRON MAN.......ROCKED in Iron Man 1( the second one...YOU GUESSED IT ;)SUCKED!!!!!!)

So, WTF???? This movie is a chance to redeem for a number of arguably BAD ASSES.

ROLL THE DICE. I'll take a chance on this one.

First, the DISCLAIMER: I like some crappy movies. I can find the entertainment value in cheesy film very easily. And it's so much fun to do MST3K if the film actually sucks.

So, I am very much looking forward to this film. And what is wrong with Cowboys and Aliens, as a premise? Think about it! Why couldn't aliens come to Earth in the 1800's? Why does it have to be current times?

So you got the Awesome premise, nice special effects (judging by the previews), Harrison Ford (I'll forgive his Indiana Jones IV), and Daniel Craig in the same movie. And as a special boner, Olivia Wilde!

The only downside if it sucks is not being able to MST3K it at the theater....

I thought it was a fantastic idea. Why should aliens always happen to invade earth when it's fairly advanced, technology-wise? They could just as easily have came back then.

Beats the premise of Signs. Aliens that die horribly when they come in contact with water, so they come to a planet where water regularly FALLS FROM THE SKY?!? That's a dumb idea. Cowboys and Aliens is interesting.

No I watched it twice.

It was james bond with memory loss meets a nice hot alien and a posse rides out to find the aliensThe hot alien kills the rest of the aliens after not 1 but 2 completely unbelieveable battles where 20 semi competent cowboys with 6 shooters somehow hold their own agains 30 or 40 fifteen foot tall, bullet proof aliens who can leap a 4 story building in one bound, rip a man in half with 1 hand (they have 4), and have far superior weaponry.

There were all kinds of ****** alarms going off, trust me. It wasn't even interesting. (it was the extended version which may have been a factor)
