High OG. Will adding the wort to the 2 extra gallons in carboy correct it?

This is for a 10 gallon batch in two carboys. I have two gallons of water in each carboy ready.

That should make the OG go down to 1050 or around there? That should be my OG for my recipe. I think its 1052 for the recipe.

14 lbs. amber, dry malt extract
2 lb. crystal malt, 60¡ Lovibond
3 lb. American six-row pale ale malt
3lb oatmeal (quick)
1 lb. chocolate malt
1 lb. roasted barley
1 tsp. Irish moss, for 15 min.
4 oz. Fuggles hop pellets (4.2% alpha acid), for 45 min.
Wyeast 1084, Irish ale yeast

I did this recipe perfectly. Im still boiling in for another 35 mins though...

How do you know you have a high OG if you didn't even measure yet?! Follow the recipe and with extract brewing you should always be pretty darn close to your target OG...
