I'm working on my first batch of homebrewed beer and it just finished primary fermentation.
When I opened the beer to rack it into the glass carboy it had an odd smell, kind of sour/winey like.
Is this normal? If not, any idea of what I did wrong?

fermentation ain't pretty, don't smell that great either.
