I have been all BIAB for a while. I typically get about 72-75% efficiency according to my trusty BeerSmith.
This weekend I did my first brew using a cooler mash tun and batch sparging. I ended up with about 58%.
I followed the steps outlined in the sticky for maximizing my batch sparge efficiency so I think I am good there.
My question is the crush. I have been using my mill from Rebel Brewer at the factory setting and it has been working good. The beer I made Sunday contained 60% wheat malt. Do I need to crush using a smaller gap for wheat?

Besides the crush issues that you are looking at, did you stir really well when you mashed in and between the sparges?
