california steam partial mash kit from midwest supplies

That is the kit I bought. I brewed it thinking of anchor steam in mind when I didn't put two and two together and remember that anchor steam is its own beer and just because its a california steam ale doesn't mean all california steam ales will taste like it.

Now should my california steam ale come out the same color as anchor steam?? Because mines came out more of a color of some type of pilsner. Like a gold/yellow color.

I think of a California Common or Steam beer as an amber ale, also. According to the description for the kit, its copper in color.
