Just a late night quickie. Got a few new barrels, had to show them off.

I just made a mess too.
Can I sleep on the floor, quietly talking to my self, and be your warden?

That's amazing. But what happens when you need to rack out of the bottom barrels? You have a fork lift?

One is an "authentically" brewed lambic, one is a "chopped down" lambic mash, another is a sour with yeast from roselare and crooked stave, fourth is a black sour with all twenty yeasts from the EBY experiment, the last two are TBD.

To pull from the bottom barrels, there is 4" of headspace, and I find that laying down my high temp silicon tubing on the floor of the barrel I am able to extract all the beer sans yeast (since its had a year to fall out.)

Anyone is welcome to come by anytime for a taste. In Portland, ME. Just had the Portland Brew Bus come by for a tour. Here are a few more shots.

Omg you're I'm Maine? That's not far.
Where are you getting your barrels?

Ooooh I have to hit costco for some more kleenex haha. Did you fill those barrels yourself? Also how many gallons are each?

Thanks and thanks. They have been filled over the last couple years. 50-60 gallons each. I use Blichman 55's so I can fill them in a day of brewing.
I got the wine barrels from Breakwater Vineyards in Rockland and the others are old Jim Beam barrels.

Sweet!!! Nice work. At one point I had 5 barrels of different sizes, 2-60G, 2-30G and a 10G all filled in the garage. When it came time to bottle it became allot of work. Seems like all your friends are busy on bottling day!!

What are you doing with all the beer?

BW

Drinking it and having parties. Some weekends we'll blast through a couple cornies. But, for the most part I have lots of friends who come by and they always duck in for a pint.
