March pump speed adjustment

Why would you want to change the speed of the pump? If you're wanting to control FLOW, put a ball valve on the output. The pump can run perfectly fine even with the output completely shut off.
Right. Ball valve on the output. It's a magnetic drive so you can completely stop the flow for a while without damage.
+1 on the ball valve.
I seem to remember reading that you can burn up an A/C electric motor by trying to slow it down with a rheostat. Had something to do with Ohms Law and dropping the voltage causing the current to increase and the motor to run considerably hotter until it finally burns up. Not a problem with a DC motor, but very bad for an A/C motor.

Unless it's a three phase and you have a Variable Frequency Drive.......But now we are just getting carried away with useless knowledge as the the question has already been answered. :fro:
