The only difference I have seen are the Cornelius pin lock posts I have use the same poppets as the ball lock Cornelius posts in diagram B.
 
I have heard these can cause problems on the liquid side

They work fine if they're trimmed to the proper length. If you try to use one as is in a post that was designed for short poppets, they won't depress far enough, and will cause issues on either side.
 
Today I also just took apart an old ball lock firestone with the plastic post spacers (post C) and it needed the long leg (D style) poppet.
 
I seem to be having some problems 1 of my super champion kegs with the type b posts and poppits. the poppits won't seat, poppits seem in working order when I take them out they look fine any ideas?
