Picked up an old 2.5 gallon Hamm's tapper from the flea market for 20 bucks. I searched all day but could not find much info on them. Has anyone used these gems for home brew? I removed the C clip in the same fashion as a sanke keg to find the CO2/regulator that seems to be filled via shrader valve. The tap came off easily as well with a quarter turn in the clockwise direction. It is nasty inside, and is easy to say it would be a bad idea to reuse the plastic tap. I have a few ideas, but was wondering what any one else thought.

Did you ever get this to work? I came across one that my Dad had and got the bottom off, but I am wondering how/if it would work refilling the regulator with CO2?

I just won one in an eBay auction. I'm hoping to use it as a firkin. I was thinking I could drill a hole for the pin...
