Anyone tried this kit?

Kit needs:
1 lb roasted chestnuts (not included), 6 lb sorghum, 1 lb brown rice syrup, 2oz cascade @60, Windsor ale yeast. Steep chestnuts @ 155F for 25 minutes.
Can you get much from a 25 minute steep with chestnuts?

Wow, they don't include the roasted chestnuts? That is LAAAAAME. 1 lb of roasted chestnuts steeped for 25 minutes without enzymes is not going to give you very much. 2 oz of cascade at 60? That's all the hops?

I'd say avoid the kit. You could do a better recipe with very similar ingredients in different proportions.

Agree, it's lame, and I questioned the benefit of chestnuts steeped that way. I bought 5 pounds from Trail Ends and looking for a good pale ale or IPA recipe to use them.
