Let's say we went backwards and passed legislation to ban home brewing of wine, cider, mead and beer without an exception for personal consumption. Would you still brew? This would be assuming that alcohol is still legal, and you could still get the supplies needed conveniently (much like how smoke shops supply marijuana consumers). I'm sure a homebrew store could call it "ingredients for red wine, malt, and cider vinegar".

Just curious to see how many people would follow an arbitrary law like this with the attitude that "the law is the law", and how many would figure that as long as they don't sell or tell, they shouldn't have to worry about getting caught. Happy to hear your opinions!

Our policy is to not discuss illegal activies, whether it's speeding, smoking pot, or distilling. Even if we're saying "what if?", this is not going to end well. So it's ending now.

To add to this, this rule is to keep HomeBrewTalk out of trouble. I don't like impeding speech, but to stay on the straight and narrow we must.
