For most things

I don't love to eat as much as some. I do have a knack for cooking.

More by necessity than by choice. I am too poor to hire other folks for what I want, so I must do it myself

I love to eat, I have a knack for cooking
Pretty much, yeah.

I am an engineer. Love making things work.
Nope. I am an electrician. We fix the engineers' f***-ups.

Not really, unless I know you very well.

I like a challenge
Nope. I would rather things went smoothly.

Wow, out of the 3 people who say they went to college you claim you didn't finish. Why did you go?

For SOME things, plumbing ALWAYS kicks my ass.

I love to eat, I have a knack for cooking
I do have a knack for cooking. Fresh caught bluefish with a white wine cream sauce, Caesar salad with homemade croutons & Caesar salad dressing, steamed broccoli (with lemon zest) and sauteed potatoes was dinner tonight.

I am an engineer. Love making things work.
Nope artist/graphic designer (art director) which makes me creative but not book smart. I love when things I make work, I get lucky most of the time with educated guesses.

I went to college
Went to college, never finished

I have plenty of money
I do OK on money, but I wouldn't say plenty, frequently blow the budget... is there ever Plenty $$$

I like my job
New Job!, still in Honeymoon Phase... I do like my career (graphic design) most of the time.

I love growing things, gardening.
Yes, but still getting used to southern growing climate, growing hops was a miserable failure. Moving soon, trying again next spring. will be planting some things at the new place early June.

I am outgoing
Not really, unless I'm drinking :mug: :ban: :mug: Alcohol is a social lubricant.

I like a challenge
Yes, it's part of my career path. I usually start new hobby activities at the intermediate level. (brewing, golf, kayaking etc.)

I am health concious
Not really... and I can rarely spell conscious without spell check! (spell checked)

Wow, out of the 3 people who say they went to college you claim you didn't finish. Why did you go?

I learned a lot while I was there, needed to go another year (grades were less than stellar, was young and not very into non-art classes) and financial aid ran out... jumped right into the graphic design field without the paperwork. Been in the field now for over 20 yrs.

Went for business. I think the better question is why didn't we finish. For me I found out I liked cooking more than sitting at a desk, so I became a Chef instead.

Went to trade school for tool and die. Got a job where boss paid, so started taking college classes at night. Mostly math and engineering. Not enough of the other english / history courses required for a degree. Kids got older and wanted more family time, so stopped going.

I appreciate you guys answering.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick asking and if I did I apologize. I was just curious because of my own personal views (it would go way off topic if elaborated). Your answers are very interesting to me and I support your decisions BTW.

(even more :off: )
I just read an interesting article in Consumer Reports. Paraphrased to student loans being astronomical and being yet another severe threat to the economy....

Yes. Why pay someone else to screw it up?

I love to eat, I have a knack for cooking

Definitely! I love to bbq and make pizza from scratch.

I am an engineer. Love making things work.

Machinist. It's better than an engineer. I like to take things remove everything that's not needed and make it work. If I'm not brewing I have some sort of project going on.
