Thanks to my buddy moving in with his girlfriend I have acquired his old keggerator.:rockin:
It is currently setup to dispense commercial kegs. What all will have to be converted in order to connect to cornelius kegs?

[Edited for clarity]

I've got the same situation. I'm changing out the tower to a 3 faucet tower. When that arrives, I'll have to take off the Sanke beer connection off the beer line and put on a Cornelius Ball lock QD. On the Gas side, I'll connect the hose to a 4 way manifold which will have 3 lines coming off with Corny Gas QD.

Not much work, you'll just need the Corny connections and some clamps.

I guess I didn't consider the possiblity of having quick connects for both.
And thanks for the terminology. I couldn't for the life of me remember the word sankey. That should make internet searches easier.

It's been a while since I've seen the kegerator, but if I remember correctly it has a double tower with only one faucet installed. I would likely run a second line, but I don't want one dedicated to a sankey fitting. I think I might rig up my own flare fitting quasi-quick disconnect to switch between sankey and corney on tap 1 and have tap 2 only corney.
Is it worth trying to make my own manifold or should I pay the $27 and buy one from morebeer.com?
It looks like it's about $10 worth of parts from a hardware store.
Brass Plug - (2)Brass Tee - (2)Brass Valve - (2)Brass Barb connector - (2) Brass nipples
Ok, maybe $15.

instead of those disconnects, i would recommend a cheaper solution of using flared connections. you can get a flare tail piece that will fit in the sanke gas-in and just get flared ball-lock or pin-lock QDs and the respective female flare hose fittings, you can also get a flared manifold. i highly recommend flared connections over barbed. another option that would be slightly more expensive would be john guest, or push connect fittings. very nice. if i had known more about them before, i would've used them exclusively for my gas side of things.

How do you use a flare fitting with vinyl tubing? I worked in a plumbing shop for 4 years (not pretending like I know everything) and I can only think of two ways to adapt vinyl tubing to anything.
1) Barb adapters
2) Compression fittings (with the nylon ring and inserts)

easiest way is to use barb adapters like you said.

these are what i use for pretty much everything, both gas side as well as liquid side with flared QDs like these:

and if you want to use the sanke tap coupler, you can use this:

you don't have to buy from austinhomebrew, they are just my LHBS, and i know their website, and they have pictures, in case you didn't know what i was talking about.

have fun!

also, if you want to go with push-connect, i believe tnlandsailor has a guide somewhere about how he built his kegerator with them. i believe this is the guide: http://www.ihomebrewsolutions.com/TheGreatFridgeProject.pdf

there is a site with more projects along these lines, but i can't find it right now.

that is tnlandsailor's page
