This beer isn't officially award winning, but it was a hit at the wedding for which I brewed it so that's award enough for me. It's midly hoppy, but slightly balanced toward malt. Very simple and refreshing. This would go great as a summer lawn mower beer.
8# Pale 2-row
.5# Biscuit malt
.5# Cara-pils
.25 oz Nugget (12.8%) @ 60 min
1 Whirlfloc tablet @ 15 min
1 oz Cascade (5.6%) @ 10 min
Repitch of US-05 slurry
I did the wet towel with fan cooling method, so the fermentation temperature is a guess, but ambient was about 70 F and I've heard that this method keeps it 5-10 F below ambient. I also added gelatin finings at bottling and it came out pretty clear, but not brilliantly so.
