Something curried and hot. (Not sure what yet)

Ya can't beat good preparation! :D

Personally, I tend to throw my life against the wall and see what sticks. Usually, it's everything. I have a pretty sticky life.

Is the 6 pack @ 9abv just for you, or are you going to share????

MMMM hot spicy curry, any idea what? I did a pot of curried lentils, potato, and chick pea last week, and ut a bunch of it up...I had it for either lunch, dinner or a side dish for the last week or so...yum. I discovered canned fire roasted tomatoes, which have really given all my curries (and even things like chili) and added depth...

Hey Revvy, you an me..... I'd already decided on the chick pea thing. ..

Yes all for me.:mug:
If there's any left when I fall over they can share it,
The music's awesome.

Okay, the first time I read this i thought you wrote;

Personally, I tend to throw my wife against the wall and see if she sticks. Usually, I have a pretty sticky wife.
Damn, hallucinating already, and I only have had half a beer....granted I haven't eaten all day and it is about 8%....but still, half an 8% beer is only 4%, right? :D

I love madras lentils and potatoes, and last time I was going to make it, I spied a couple cans of chick peas @ 2 for a dollar, and decided that 3 starches were better that 2!!!

Check out my vindaloo recipe on here.

I get the peas for 30p a pop from the local asian store. Just picked up a kilo dried for 79p.

Gonna make some humous.

When you use dried, how long do you soak them for if you are using them whole in a recipe? (I'm asuming if you are making hummus you don't need to rehydrate them fully if at all.)

I do rehydrate them fully, normally 24 hours.

1 can chick peas, drained (Or dried- rehydrated)
1-3 clove garlic (I like it garlicy)
1/2 small onion
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp. olive oil (or oil from the tahini
1 tbsp. sesame paste (tahini)
1 tbsp. parsley, chopped , optional (I usually let the extra garlic give the extra heat)

I gotta drive over an hour to get a good curry.

I wish I could stomach the ones I've tried to cook myself. :( Well, OK, they are edible enough. Just not the same as one I havn't cooked. :)

Yummmm!!!!!

I've never made hummus...thanks for the recipe...

So what did you settle on curry wise? How was your night?

Well the Indian immigrant moved over enforce from the 50's and started the take aways aimed at our tastes, rich and meaty
But to tell you the truth the classics are all western creations,
I normal follow more traditional Asian type recipes.

There are 4 mainstream takeaways in the UK.

Fish and Chips
Indian
Chinese (Who some times also offer the Fish and chip menu)
Turkish (Kebabs and usually offer Pizza)

Then There's Pizza, chicken and burger joints but for some reason I don't class them the same.

Last night was a simple Chick pea, potato, yoghurt and water curry with spiced rice and a garlic and coriander nan bread.

MY HEAD HURTS>

With the hummus,

Forgot to state the obvious it needs to be blended!

I use one of these, the whole recipe takes a minute or two.
