4" shank < 3" wall

Had to order 5 inch shanks for the new kegger. The collar is only 3 inches and I have 4 1/8 inch shanks. Should work? Nope, the 4" length includes the section of the shank that is outside the kegger; washer & faucet flange. Slightly less than 3" remained, so I couldn't attach the nut, much less the hose connector!

Trashed my wrench taking the faucets off as well. At least those are inexpensive.

[At least it's raining, so I can't do yard work instead of furthering the kegger.]

Yeah, too bad they always include the faucet nut and attached barb (if attached). I used 3" shanks to go through 3/4" lumber.
I was so concerned, I went 1" longer....4 & 1/8".
