Hi

My local shop is out of Briess two row and will be for another week or so.

I would like to brew a batch of Ed Wort's Haus Pale Ale and am seeking advice on a substitution.

I have some Rahr's Pilsner that I could sub for most of the batch.

My eight gallon batch would call for about 13.50 lbs of two row. On hand I have 1.5lbs and would add 12lbs of the pils to make up the difference.

What are your thoughts? Anybody see any problems with this?

Thanks -

It should turn out great. The Pilsner should be ever so slightly lighter but not so much that you'd notice, and I think it may taste a bit sweeter as well but I'm sure some will disagree.

Anyway, it would work out great in Ed's Haus Pale Ale. Definitely will be a good beer.
