Hey all!

I've got the B3 Barleywine extract kit designed for a partial boil, but I've got this great big pot. I figured the way to deal with this would be to do a full boil using the set hop schedule, but bump up the ferementables to try to bring the IBU's in line, and make an even bigger beer! (I'll be countertop partial mashing the grains)

Any thoughts?

12 lbs Light LME
2 lbs Light DME
2 lbs Pale malt
1 lb Caramunich
1 lb Caravienne
1 lb Corn Sugar

2 oz Magnum (16.0 %) 60 Min From End
2 oz Columbus(Tomahawk) (15.5 %) 10 Min From End
2 oz Cascade (4.5 %) Flameout

Yeast
DCL US-05 (formerly US-56) SafAle

As always, any advice or criticism is greatly appreciated.

Cheers! :mug:

I don't know much about the extract portion, but it looks delicious. Your hop schedule looks great. Make sure to pitch 2 or 3 packs of Safale, depending on your OG. If it's over 1.120 I'd be tempted to triple-pitch. Under 1.120 and 2 packs should be more than enough.

Yea, I figured on throwing a bunch of yeast at this beast. A buddy of mine found a great deal on the US-05 at some LHBS while out on the road & brought me enough so I don't have to worry about yeast conservation this year :) My anticipated OG is 1.117, so I'll figure on 2 rehydrated packs.

Thanks!
