Peeping through the knothole of grandpa's wooden leg
who'll wind the clock when I'm gone?
Go get the ax there's a flee on Lizzy's ear
and a boy's best friend is his mother.

Hanging from a window, a second story window
Why did they build the shore so near the ocean?
And who cut the sleeves out of dear old daddy's vest
and we dug up Fido's bones to build a sewer

I take it today was test day for the dispensing equipment at Naked City.:drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

I think he has gone over the edge working too hard.
'Topia, take it easy and get some rest. I'm going to start worrying about you if you continue to spout poetry. :)

I have that in my 'Wee Sing Silly Songs' book from when I was like five or something. I don't think I've heard it anywhere else though. Where'd you find it?

I just remember it from my childhood. It's still stuck in my head from elementary school music class.

EDIT - It's wierd, the things that stick with you. I still remember all the lyrics to a song I wrote in the 8th grade.

"Bubble gum Fever" (Sorry for the title, it was the disco era)

Whenever I come home I grab my pack of bubble gum
and I stick the whole darn thing between my lips
Then I blow a bubble, I say I blow a bubble
as big as a circus elephant's hips

(chorus)
I've got bubble gum fever and I'm never gonna leave'er
Just gonna chew my bubble gum all day
Yes it's bubble gum fever and it started with Tom Seaver
Those baseball cards that took my money away

Well I get out of my chair to comb my hair
and you'll never guess what I found there
I look in fright at a horrible sight
Some bubble gum stuck to my head last night!

(repeat chorus)

"Excitable boy they all said,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well he's just an excitable boy"

That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that

I have strong childhood memories of a song about a dead cat.

Oh, Senor Don Gato was a cat,
On a high red roof Don Gato sat,
he went there to read a letter
meow, meow, meow,
where the reading light was better
meow, meow, meow.
'Twas a love note for Don Gato!

I adore you wrote the lady cat,
Who was fluffy, white, and nice and fat,
Oh there was no sweeter kitty, meow, meow meow,
In the country or the city
And she said she'd wed Don Gato.

Oh Don Gato jumped so happily,
He fell off the roof and broke his knee,
Broke his ribs and all his whiskers, meow, mewo meow,
And his little solar plexis, meow, meow, meow,
Ay caramba cried Don Gato.

Well the doctors all came on the run,
Just to see if something could be done,....
But in spite of everything they tried,
Poor senor Don Gato up and died,....

When the funeral passed the market square
Such a smell of fish was in the air,
Though his burial was slated, meow meow meow
He became reanimated, meow..
He came back to life, Don Gato.

Some of these songs, I can't imagine that the teachers would dare to teach them. Guess I'll find out in a couple years!
