With the Wii and PS3 right around the corner, I'm wondering if any of my homebrew brothers and sisters are gamers.

Anyone standing out all night to pick up a Wii or PS3?

I have had most of the major systems, my latest is the PSP. I won't be in any rush to get teh Wii or the PS3. I'm finding games were much more enjoyable when they were simpler. I bought NHL 2006 for the PS2 last year and my head was spinnign with all of the controls. It wasn't even enjoyable, although very pretty.

My PSP keeps me entertained when I get the video game bug or need to kill time while traveling. Plus, that has so many other cool features (wireless internet, plays music and videos, stores pics, etc.) that I never get bored with it.

Surfing porn on my PSP...doesn't get any better than that! :D

That's the appeal of the Wii. Fewer buttons and an easy-to-use gyroscopic controller. I'll be heading to Harrisburg on Sunday morning to see if I can find one.

I have a PS2 and I would like to get a PS3 but there's no way I'm paying that much for it. I may get the Wii sooner and then the PS3 and Xbox360 later when the prices drop.

You're so damned 1337!!

I have an X-box, and I don't even have time to play it. Only game I play is Halo 2, and that's usually just online with friends.

I want the 360 for the sole reason of Gears of War. THat game is frickin insane.

But for now, Im happy with my online games on my computer

I work for nvidia and I helped design the PS3, but I don't play many video games at all. Ironically, it is because my job keeps me too busy. :D

PS: You should all buy a PS3. In fact, buy two of them.

You work for nVidia? Wow! What is your title, if I may ask?

I'd but two PS3s if I could, because then I could re-sell them and make a ton of cash.

actually I was seriously considering waiting in line for 10 hours or whatever just so I could turn around and resell it on ebay for 2k

Nvidia is not big on handing out titles, so 'officially' I just carry a 'Senior Engineer' title.

But, if you are interested in what I do, I am an logic/asic engineer.

The original Nintendo Entertainment System.

I have PS & PS2... I don't play very many games, but I love the Gran Tourismo line... I'll get my PS3 in 2 years when it becomes reasonable money

I have Xbox, PS2, and PC, and hope to be getting XBox 360 in January after the price drops $100. Might get Wii too, depending on how much it costs, but PS3 is just way to expensive, without a lot of popular titles. Yet lately I haven't been able to play much with school, and stuff.

P.S. Halo kicks A$$ :rockin:

If i do not have a game on the 360 i have one on the computer. Right now i have been geeking out on Gears of War for the 360, as my computer is getting a bit old to run some of the newer games.

Chimone, what online computer games are you playing right now?

I didn't know nVidia was a spanish company!

I used to play xbox quite a bit. I travel quite a lot so I used to put mod chips and 120gig HDDs in them so you can put all your games on the HDD and play them off of there instead of carrying around a bunch of games with you. Works like a charm, and slicing into them and setting them up is almost as fun as playing the games!

The last dedicated videogame system I owned was an Atari 2600 (which isn't in the poll dangit!). I've tried playing PC games over the year on and off, but just never really got into it. It's fun, but I tend to lose track of time which winds up pissing me off. I occasionally blow 30-45 minutes playing Spider solitaire.

I do pass my time in the throne room playing java games on my phone, though.

Yeah my cousin did that too with his and it's real sweet, he can play a whole bunch of old mario games and other things like that, I'm trying to get him to do it for me though

Why the hell did Nintendo call their new system the Wii? I took a Wii a few minutes ago - it was quite relieving. I refuse to pay more than a couple hundred bucks for video game stuff...especially since I don't play it that often. Standing in line FOREVER to pay twice what any system is really worth because you're gonna be the first to have it is just plain silly in my book. I'm quite happy with my PS2, and when the prices drop enough on some of the newer systems, maybe I'll upgrade. Guess I'm not a "Gamer."

Playing video games is a waste of time. Those of you who play will someday come to regret your idle waste of time. I haven't played video games since pong and astro-tit were popular. Well, I'm not sure astro-tit was ever all that popular in general terms, as it was considered sort of risque back in '84. Remember Asteroid? Astro-tit was sort of like that, only with tits instead of asteroids. Seemed amusing at the time.

I used to play TONS of games. I don't regret the time I spent at all, I could have been doing MUCH worse. Now, I pretty much only play sports games every now and then with friends.

Funny, it doesn't seem to matter how long it's been, I still pick up games quickly and rarely lose. If it's baseball - I'll most likely manhandle you.

True. We could be getting drunk, or making intoxicating beverages. What are we thinking?

To me, there are few things a married guy can do that are better than talking **** over X-box baseball while downing a few brews

There ya go. Time well spent in the more profligate pursuits of youth will bless you later in life with liver transplants and a cosmopolitan outlook.

Yeah, that's better than the multi-tasking, hyper-dexterous freaks our children are going to be.

I play board games and watch movies now and then too, but I doubt I'll regret that time, just as I surely won't regret playing video games. Or drinking.

I'm sure there is nothing that you do that anyone else would call a waste of time.
