I have a motorola i580 cellphone and want to load it with ringtones, but it seems to be proprietary, so I have to buy them through motorola. I am able to load mp3's into my phone and hate that I should have to pay twice for music I already own and even load! I am just starting to look into this, but hoped that someone here had some insight.

Thanks, Hippie

I purchased a computer program that creates ring tones. I have no idea how it works but you can make any kind of ring tones you want and the pogram sends them to your phone.
It's called ringtone maker2 and it's made by MAGIX.
I don't know if it works with all service providers but you might want to check it out.

I've used BitPim (free) for my Verizon Razor and previously for a LG V6000.
The Razor uses a regular USB cord, the LG was a purchased cord.

Verizon is notorious for locking you out, but they can be hacked. The Razor hack was dicey but worked.

I can now get google on my celly and am not charged for the data.
