As most of you may already know, Hurricane Sandy destroyed many of the coastal communities found on Staten Island. The amount of damage is unprecedented, leaving families homeless and broken.
Pour Standards, Richmond County Homebrew Club, is in the process of collaborating with local venues and organizations to host a fundraiser benefiting Staten Islanders affected by Hurricane Sandy. Before the details can be fully hashed out, we would like to get an idea on the amount of homebrewers willing to donate beer and participate for the event. The format would be similar to Brewnity, a homebrew tasting showcase that benefited the South Street Seaport Museum, .
5 Gals of beer is preferred (but any amount is welcomed), and all proceeds will go towards a charity of our choice.
We are aiming for a date within the next month or so. This should give homebrewers enough time to whip up a quick, inexpensive batch.
As of right now, two charities have been put on the list for consideration. However, we will not ask anyone to commit time to an event until a charity has been chosen, a venue has been booked, and efforts from participates have been guaranteed.
Thank you for your time in filling out this form. We will be in touch shortly with event details.
Cheers,
Sean Torres
