Soooo I finally finished my setup. I stole an idea from another member for the tap handles. i have always loved Gnomes Be Gone, and have one of the giant versions. I made the handles out of stainless, and attached purchased gnomes to them.

Whew...What a read! I lolled at the guys saying "whew what a long read" at page 90. I suppose the guys on page 550 will be lolling at me too! :) I am in the process of building mine, I got an old freezer off Criagslist for 50 dollars delivered to my house! I painted it, and built a collar for it, its starting to come together, and mostly due to inspiration from you gentlemen. I will post pictures soon when it is done!

Currently accepting ideas for Tap Handles. I think I want to make my own. Any ideas?

My old keezer died (from having wood glued directly to the sides - don't do that) so I built another. It's finished so here's a few pics. It holds 4 on the floor with room to spare, but only 3 taps for now.

Edit: Someone asked me about the collar. It is wrapped in thick white vinyl that has a diamond textured pattern on it. It's sold as drawer liner in rolls at HD http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...&productId=100388894&R=100388894#.UD5vl6HaxXp

Ok, here are a couple shots, of the making of.
The last picture is the mostly finished product. I am waiting on some hardware for my second tap, and a couple little addons too, like the drip tray, tap handles, and bottle opener. I will post another picture when I have everything up and going.

I did not build it, but bought it from a guy....

It really is a case for the chest freezer inside and includes castors.

I is probably to large for my house and I am building a smaller one... he inspired me...

Made from the 5 CF Holiday. 2 cornies on the floor, 2.5-3 gal keg and 10lb CO2 on the hump. Used the tower to save space, added expense though.

I know it's not much yet. . . but here's phase 1 of my keezer & bar build. I expect this to be a 10 year project, overall.

Are you from the Pittsburgh area originally? (I noticed the Steelers and Rolling Rock stuff.)

I'm born and raised there, living in Upstate NY.
Yeah, pretty much. I'm from Wheeling,WV. Less than an hour from Downtown Burgh, depending on the parkway west traffic.lol

Well, I bought a house and one of the first things I did was buy a chest freezer and build a keezer! My old dorm fridge kegerator is now a dedicated fermentation chamber.

Just got done mounting the tower and connecting the lines. Enjoy my first pour and then it's off to bed!

Cheers!

Lions vs.....

Hey I searched and didn't see a thread like this yet, so I figured we could all post our Kegerator pictures here.

That is chalkboard paint at the top to identify what is on tap at each of the future 4 taps. I still have to relocate the single tap and add 3 additional taps to the front. I just need to purchase the equipment first. I also need to recoat the chalkboard paint. Currently I only have 1 coat of paint on it.

Nice Taps Ratsathome! I love the magnet idea. I originally abandoned the idea of making my taps specific to my brews, since I make something different every time, but this would make it more doable... hmmmm.

Anyway, here are three more shots of mine now, fully functional! I still need to attach a drip tray and a bottle opener, perhaps some decorations. I also eventually upgrade to 3 taps, but thats a ways off. The taps are unfinished as well, those are redwood bases for what I will end up with, still sorting out the logistics of what I want to do. BTW, does anyone know how to get a squirrel to sit completely still on a very small piece of redwood without having to kill it and stuff it? Just asking, no reason.

Here are some more photos.
I cut the bottom off of a styrofoam cooler and mounted a 3" PVC flange to that. The styrofoam is glued to the back side of the drywall.

Finished stage one of the keezer: getting beer flowing. The freezer was free from a friend and my old manager at the bar gave me an older jockey box that I salvaged the spouts and taps from. I've depleted my fun money for the month but the next step is to get corney kegs and the other 2 spouts so I can shift away from commercial kegs. Needs some new paint and then sealed as well but it's a start
