Maybe. I'd ditch the dark extract, though. The extract will already have crystal malt in it, and with the crystal you have plus the milk sugar you could be looking at a terribly sweet beer. I'd also skip the 5 minute fuggles, as I don't like late addition hops in an oatmeal stout (particularly fuggles).

I'd skip the lactose until bottling, just to see if it's needed. Most oatmeal stouts aren't sweet.

I have a pretty good oatmeal stout recipe, if you want to take a look at it.

I figured as much about the lactose, I might just make a try at all-grain with your recipe and pray to the beer gods that I can figure it out.

I would agree on ditching the lactose and 5 min addition. I might switch the Marris Otter to Munich Malt as well.

Wouldn't be hard at all to make Yooper's recipe into a partial mash if all grain seems a bit daunting to you just yet. And you can't really go wrong with a yooper recipe.

I watched some videos on youtube of people doing batch sparges, and it seems simple enough, so I might as well dig further down the rabbit hole and try something new.

Plus I got paid today and have money to blow on equipment.

I have upgraded the recipe to go with the new equipment I just bought

5.00 lb Pale Malt (Marris Otter) (3.0 SRM) Grain 45.45 %
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
1.00 lb Oats, Flaked (1.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
1.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) Bel (3.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
1.00 lb Victory Malt (25.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
0.50 lb Barley, Flaked (2.0 SRM) Grain 4.55 %
0.50 lb Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 4.55 %
0.50 lb Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM) Grain 4.55 %
0.50 lb Wheat, Torrified (2.0 SRM) Grain 4.55 %
2.00 oz Williamette [5.50 %] (60 min) Hops 37.8 IBU

does this look more to style?
