Pre-cook oats for american brown ale?

Hey Guys. Making a Surley Bender american brown ale clone. I am using the oats in the pic below. Should I pre-cook them according to normal oat instructions? Or just add to the mash. I know some type you should cook before.

Flaked usually implies some cooking, as the kernels have been pressed with a hot roller. I'd say just use them as is, as long as you're not using more than a pound our so. Instant tends to dissolve into a pile of mud in the mash anyway.
 
Flaked oats can be mixed directly into the mash with the other grains.
