Okay, so I boiled 1/2 cup of DME in 1 liter of water to make my starter, put the pot (uncovered) in an ice batch in my sink, and then went to the pub... for 2 hours. I meant to put the pot lid on it before I left. Anyway, the pot has been sitting in my not-so-sanitary kitchen without a lid. I dumped my yeast in and transfered it into my erlenmeyer flask.

Think I should just go guy new yeast tomorrow and not risk it?

What would you do?

As long as the pot you boiled in was clean and it was in the middle of the sink, I'd go with it. Let the starter go and as long as there are no off odors on brew day, pitch it. I'd also have some Sa05 on hand just in case (assuming you're doing an ale) :D

Since this recipe used a lot of expensive hops, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I just made a new starter with fresh/new yeast.
