Ingredients Ordered Yesterday...This is my next brew on Deck, Ill let u know how it turns out :p :mug:

Great, happy to hear that. Let me know how it turns out.

Dude, you waited ten years to share??! What's that about?

Sounds good though.

I wasn't on here ten years ago! I always shared the recipe with anyone who asked. :D

I modified this recipe to make it a little bit simpler since I am only set up for 1 gallon batches which I make in my kitchen. I went with the same grain and malt mix. To simplify the recipe I used Chinook hops for bittering at 60 min, and then Simcoe hops at 15 min and 1 min. I also dry hopped with Simcoe. I also used nottingham yeast instead of White Labs. So far looks good, been one day, attached some pics

the one on the left I mean, the two on the right are the modified Big Hoppy IPA recipe

Turning from a grapefruit juice consistency to a more golden clear consistency, very nice

I bottled it the other, tasted it and it was awesome and it is only going to be better after bottle conditioning! It smelled absolutely delicious.

This beer came out AWESOME! Although I slightly altered the beer, I have to give most of the credit to Matt for nailing the fermentables ratio. I think the recipe would prob work good for any citrus hop, it is a perfect platform for the the aromas and flavors.

I am brewing a double version. I am brewing about one gallon at a time and collect the wort in a fermenting bucket, brewing 3 gallons total. Here is the recipe on a gallon scale:

2 lbs American Two-row pale
1.25 llbs Carapils
0.75 lbs Wheat Malt

During the Boil:

@60 add .5 oz chinook bittering hops
@30 add .25 oz Simcoe
@15 add .25 oz Simcoe
@5 add .25 oz Simcoe
Dry hop with .75 oz Simcoe

drinking one of the doubles now, delicious, you have any good recipes for an amber ale or a brown ale?

Yeah. Just check the recipes drop down menu under my name.

I've repeated that Smola recipe a bunch of times with slight variations. I've found that 1.056 OG is nice, more impact in flavor. 1/2 oz of hops at 10 min and 0 min works nicely for me. I've used American hops for those additions, but the one I just brewed last weekend was Centennial at 10 min and EKGs at 0 min. Haven't tasted that one though, obviously. Any of the usual American hops would work for that one.

Special B can be used instead of Crystal 350 in that recipe, BTW.
