Based on a post I read a few minutes ago reminded me of a question I've had but am not sure where to research. So, I'll ask here...

I have done enough batched to be experimenting with extract batches and a few grains though not AG. I am not experienced enough to know what to add to Light/Pale malt extract when a recipe calls for amber or dark. Is there a substitute? That is, do I add a certain amount of crystal, choc or bp per pound of pale LME?

Thanks

Good for YOU!

It depends on what kind of beer you are brewing. There are hundreds of different grains for a reason. No 1 dark grain is good for all dark beers.

What are you brewing?
