So I either have a spider or bug feeding on me in the same spot every night OR there is something living under my skin.

I have a few little bumps on my hand and wrist and every morning they itch and they seem to be spreading.

Any ideas? My first two thoughts are spiders or chiggers.

Bed bugs.

I think you may be on to something...

In most observed cases, bites consist of a raised red bump or flat welt, and are often accompanied by intense itching. The red bump or welts are the result of an allergic reaction to the anesthetic contained in the bedbug's saliva, which is inserted into the blood of its victim. Bedbug bites may appear indistinguishable from mosquito bites, though they tend to last for longer periods.

Bites may not become immediately visible, and can take up to nine days to appear. Bedbug bites tend to not have a red dot in the center such as is characteristic of flea bites. A trait shared with flea bites, however, is tendency towards arrangements of sequential bites.

Bites are often aligned three in a row, giving rise to the colloquialism "breakfast, lunch and dinner." This may be caused by the bedbug being disturbed while eating, and relocating half an inch or so farther along the skin before resuming feeding. Alternatively, the arrangement of bites may be caused by the bedbug repeatedly searching for a blood vein.

People react very differently to bedbugs, and individual responses vary with factors including skin type, environment, and the species of bug. In some rare cases, allergic reactions to the bites may cause nausea and illness. In a large number of cases, estimated to 50% of all people, there is no visible sign of bites whatsoever, greatly increasing the difficulty of identifying and eradicating infestations.

That certainly is the case here...

I would for sure go get that checked out. Few things that come to mind... Spiders, fleas, skin diseases, or even allergies. Maybe your allergic to beer?! Here's a site that may help in a "self-diagnosis": Skin Rashes and Other Changes -- familydoctor.org

I actually did check out that site earlier...it appears bug bites are the most likely...

But, srsly...allergic to beer!!?? How dare you even mention that! :cross:

Does it look similar to this ? :

Sure it's not just poison ivy, oak, sumac, etc??

Sounds more plausable than something living under your skin.

Hmmm... small red bumps? itchy? spreading? Ehhh... sounds like poison ivy cheif.

They are not red at all. Well, not until I scratch them. I scratched two of them completely off because they itch so damn bad.

They are very small and itchy. I think some little ****er has been feeding on me. How do I get rid of bed bugs? Just clean the sheets?

If only. You need a new mattress, slappy. Box spring, too.

So your theory is that bugs are crawling on to you at night and biting you in the exact same spot, every night, and not biting you anywhere else? That's what you're goin' with?

No, I'm going with the same bites that are inflaming at different times.

But if you want to go there...yeah, my right hand is usually in my nut sack. If they are attracted to warmth, they could certainly go to my sack and find the veins in my hands ;)

before you throw your bed away, go down to your local apothecary and procure some "Ivy Arrest" or somethin' like that.

Probably better to spend $7 and try it before you have to buy a whole new bed.

You think it's poison ivy? I've had ivy a ton of times and never had little bumps from it. I get a rash.

So the same bites are spreading??? I think you've been hittin' the sauce a little too hard my man.

... and... the less we all know about your night-time habits, the better we'll ALL be.

Oak? Sumac? They all give different rashes.

All I'm saying is if it was bugs... why would they only bite you in ONE spot?

Maybe it IS a spider bite or somethin' weird but like I said, before you do nuking your room or tossing your bed by the curb, I would try a little Poison Oak cream or somethin'.

... unless it IS Ebola and then your fcko'd anyway.

lol, I'm not throwing my bed away. That's silly.

I'll just catch the little ****er in the act. :D

But, srsly...the bumps aren't red at all. Any time I've seen (or had) poison oak/sumac/ivy, they always turn red.

Well, if he isn't the index case there is always a slim possibility that he'll live.

Could always try the bug bombs to see if that fixes it. I've heard and read horror stories about people sourcing second hand box springs/mattresses and getting a bonus infestation of bed bugs.

Makes my skin crawl. *shudders*

I saw on TV that wasn't even enough cause the bed bugs go hide under the carpet and in the walls at night time.
True. New bed then fumigate.

Apothecary. What a dork. :D;)

Just FYI, there is no poison ivy over here in CA. However, we have a crapton on poison oak...and it's everywhere in the hills. If you've been to a park or on a hike recently, that could be it. Stop itching it man! Seriously, I had a friend get a nasty infection from an open poison oak rash. He was laid up for a week, and almost had to go to the hospital.

Right hand, mouse hand.

I ask, because about 10 years ago I worked at a company where I was assigned used equipment on a used desk. Within a few months I contracted a similar issue which was simply diagnosed as "contact dermatitis".

Ever since then, and typically when stress is high (so yeah.. always), i start to break out with little bumps on my wrist and the base of my palms. they eventually "blister" (for lack of a better term) and then dry up and the skin peels. When it get particularly aggrivated, the tips of my fingers blister and start peeling like crazy.

Can't say this is your issue, and I never really confirmed if it was the desk/keyboard/mouse that I got whatever it is from, but now I wipe down my desk/keyboard/mouse every couple months with some clorox wipes with the assumption that whatever it is might be there...

or something.

Working in this warehouse, I should definitely wipe down my keyboard AND cut down my stress ;)

Everything is pointing towards bug bites, tho. And bed bugs at that. There are three bites at the knuckle and three bites at the wrist. They are on the veins on the wrist. They did not have a red head on them. They itch like crazy.

Damn blood-sucking insects. Yucky.

Has anyone said that this might be the dreaded BOT FLY??????

I would be more suspect of bed bugs if your legs and feet were also affected. Seems a little strange that they would just bite your wrists.
