I have just racked my first batch to secondary and added 1oz whole leaf hops. I used the same type of cheese cloth that comes with beer kits for steeping to hold the hops.

What would you guys suggest as the best way to remove this bag after the 10 day-dry hopping period?

Maybe it will be a simple task, but it doesn't hurt to ask first.

Thanks

Chad

I'm going to leave it in secondary for about 3 weeks. Won't leaving the dry-hop in that long increase the chances of those grassy tones people always warn about?

I've left hops in a cheesecloth ball like you describe in the secondary for months and never have experienced "grassy tones". I have always used pellet hops though and not whole hops. You should be fine leaving them in there for 3 weeks.

3 weeks should be fine, but next time id just add the dry hops to the primary and wait til the week before you bottle
