Brewing a Chinook IPA using my home grown hops . Tell me what you think.

9 LBS. golden LME
2 LBS. light DME
12 oz. 60L
8 oz. victory
4 oz. aromatic
1 oz. chinook 10.2% AA 60 min. Store bought
1 oz. 20 home grown
1 oz. 10 home grown
1 oz. 5 home grown
1 oz. flame out.

Should i use any cascade hops to dry hop or will they take away from the chinook.

Thanks :tank:

Looks awesome. If you want to dry hop, maybe use the 2 oz you have set aside for 5 min and flame out? Those are aroma hops anyway, so why not get the good ol' dry hop punch from them?

I have a s#$t load of hops to use, I thought it was not a good idea to use home grown for dry hopping due to possible infection s from insects? if i were to use them should i use dried or fresh off the vine . I have plenty to go both ways.

Thanks

Homegrown Chinook is what I've been using. Has helped me make a pretty darned nice IPA. Absolutely yes use it for dry hopping too. Enjoy!

+1, I used 8oz of Chinooks in my special red and it is awesome, you might try some FWH also, or hops in the mash, etc.:mug:
