I need to make a lid or buy one for my fermenter. It is for a 55g ss drum. Its OD is 22.5 . Any ideas?

*I am assuming this is the same drum from your other thread.
*Also assuming this is a closed head container.

Just a thought...

*Cut off the top 3-4" down.
*Make a two 2" strip of FDA rubber as long as the circumference of the barrel.
*Take one strip, make a ring and fix it to barrel where you just cut. 1" inside, 1" sticking out the top.
*When you put the lid on, take the second strip and wrap it around the seam.
*Fix it in place with cargo straps

like I said, just a thought.

can't be done , how much do you want for it? :p

find a welding shop , sacrifice a corney's top with lid , and buy or find a flat piece of ss to fill in the top ... maybe it could be made from the body of the corney?

i just realized i have all most no welding exp, just FYI... but that's what i would try - i have seen similar stuff like that on here.
