Is it possible? I'm building a new brew rig with 3 keggles and I'd like to not mess with HERMS or RIMS. Has anyone had success holding temps with an insulated keggle MLT? Any other options, or am I forced to recirculate if I want to use a keggle?

The bigger the batch the better. I wouldn't expect a measly 8 lb mash to maintain temp even in a well insulated keggle, same goes for coolers fwiw.

With enough insulation, including a foam "float" on top of the mash, it should work. Be sure to preheat the MLT well.
