A little short notice, but here's the info:

The Columbus Microbrew Festival is coming to the North Market with its original six-pack (of attending microbreweries) and one outstanding newcomer! The event was such a success last year that all six of Columbus’ microbreweries are coming back and talked one from Zanesville into coming along!

Returning for the event are Barley’s Brewing Company (Ale House No. 1), Barley’s Smokehouse & Brewpub (Ale House No. 2), Columbus Brewing Company, Elevator Brewing Company, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant and Hoster Brewing Company. Our newest participant is the Weasel Boy Brewing Company from Zanesville and attendees to the Columbus Microbrew Festival will be among the first to sample their brews!

Representatives from each microbrewery will be on hand to pour samples of their signature drafts. Admission to the event is free. Beer tasting admission is just $12 and includes a commemorative pint glass and eight tasting tickets. Discount coupons good for $2 off the tasting admission fee will be available at all participating microbreweries beginning September 1. Additional tasting tickets will be available for $.50 each. Tickets are available at the door on the day of the event.

New this year is a homebrew contest. Local homebrewers are invited to submit two bottles of their homemade beer for judging by Columbus’ master brewers. The winner will receive $100 in North Market gift certificates and a special trophy. For information on entering the homebrew contest, please call 614-463-9664

This was a fun event last year and should be again this year. There will be plenty of live music, a cooking demonstration, etc. The area where they hold the festival is a bit small, so it gets really crowded, but still a great time. Hope to see some of you there!

Was anyone able to attend this?
With the Bucks game and a 5k that morning I couldnt make it down, but it sure sounded fun!
