Hey guys....In my haste to get my kegs ordered, I forgot to include keg lube. I have the kegs torn down, cleaned and sanitized. Are there any substitutions for said lube that I might have lying around the house? Thnx!

I know several who use the petrol jelly with no issues.

If you have an Ace Hardware I know they stock a FDA and NSF silicone jelly for faucet O-rings.

KY is water based and most likley will not "stick around" on the seal. Petrol jelly without any of the perfumes or fragrences would be a very safe option.

Keg lube is silicone based. Every hardware store should have silicone faucet lube - that's the same stuff, and cheaper too. It sticks around better than the aforementioned choices
