Started with a standard 3-piece airlock, but switch to a blowoff into a jug of Star San (better safe than sticky).

This looks cool.. I'm no math whiz any more..

If I have a 3.3# container of Light LME.. how would each of the ingredients pan out? I think I figured instead of 1 G it would convert to 1.65G.. but, I'm no longer even sure of that.. :)

Nice color. When did you add your LME? I've made two extract batches (pale ale and IPA) and both have been darker than desired due to adding early in the boil. Well definitely be adding late from now on.

Bottled back on 10/21... Popped the first bottle tonight. Good stuff! Light bodied, not too excessive on the hops, very smooth, carbed perfectly. Day-yam!

Looks great man! I brewed my first IPA on Tuesday. Looks similar color etc. OG was 1.078... at 1.030 right now.

Hey sok454, just noticed you're from Chatham... My FIL lives in Springfield and is coming down this week. He's supposed to be picking up some Schlafly's Coffee Stout if he can find it (may not be available yet) or if not, their Oatmeal Stout and/or Porter. Ever see Founder's Breakfast Stout around there? Founder's site says there's a few places there carrying their beers. Just thought I'd ask. :mug:

You know I couldn't tell you if they have those beers here or not... now St. Louis would have the Schlafly's obviously... I had an awesome local brew at PF Changs in Chesterfield MO (by st. louis) was a Coco Latte Stout from O'Fallon Brewery.

I've heard good things about O'Fallon, specifically the 5-Day IPA (hope I remember that correctly), but haven't picked any up yet. Thoughts?

You might try the calculators over at BrewersFriend.com. It helped me scale everything down to do this batch. Fingers crossed!

Just used the brewersfriend calculator for the frist time on Firday. Way better than what I was using! The batch came out perfect. Best free calculator I've found out there!

The Stout was good. Kinda lacking any real head a bit sweet but good in a 1 or 2 beer way. Haven't had any of their other brews.
