Hi all,

I'm looking to brew an Anchor Liberty clone for my next batch. I've seen a few all-grain recipes on here that people have put up, but it has never been clear if the poster has brewed them before or they're just offering up recipe suggestions. I'm fine trying to convert an AG recipe, but I'm wondering if anybody has tried an extract based clone that comes pretty close to Liberty.

Thanks!

That recipe is for the Anchor Steam beer, I'm looking for the Anchor Liberty Ale.

Does anybody think something like this would come close?

Comes out:
Estimated OG: 1.051 SG
Estimated Color: 9.6 SRM
Estimated IBU: 34.6 IBUs

1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM)
7 lbs Pale Liquid Extract [Boil for 60 min]
2.00 oz Cascade [6.20 %] - Boil 60.0 min
1.00 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 15.0 mins)
1.00 oz Cascade [6.20 %] - Boil 10.0 min
1.00 oz Cascade [6.20 %] - Boil 0.0 min
1.0 pkg American Ale II (Wyeast Labs #1272)
1.00 oz Cascade [6.20 %] - Dry Hop 7.0 Days

I was thinking this is probably a bit low on hops as Liberty seems to be more in the mid 40s range. Let me know what anybody thinks.

That's about right, I'd say. My last batch I used one ounce of magnum to provide the bittering, then all cascade. According to the software, about 39 ibus. And I used Safale 04. You might want to reconsider using a whole pound of crystal. Might end up a bit sweet. I actually use Munich in mine instead of C20.
