Hello,

I've come across some recipes in my own language on the internet. However, they are not so explanatory, so I couldn't find enough information.

I was searching for malted wheat in our local stores, but only kind of wheat i can find was bulghur.

I've found a beer recipe which bulghur is used, but it's used along with sugar. I've tried it, but on 5th day, i dumped it. Because it had a very light colour so i thought i didn't boil it enough.

I researched a bit more, and i found the information that wheat needs to be malted. I'm not sure if bulghur is malted. So, if i boil bulghur for 2 hours, will it break down its sugars?

The second question is, i also don't have any malt extract, but i don't want to use sugar. So is it possible to achieve this only with bulghur?

Bulgur seems to be preecooked unmalted wheat
You can mash it with base malt like pale malt or pilsner malt
50/50 should give you enough base malt to convert...

No you cant make a 100% wheat beer from it, but that is also werry rearly done
