I'm wondering if empty screw tops bottles will work. They are all I have quick access to right now.

They will work with a bench capper and with some wing cappers, but:

a) They don't seal quite as well; you may wind up with some uncarbed duds (esp. with a wing capper); and
b) The necks are thinner than pry-offs, so they're more prone to breaking during capping (wing cappers clamp down on the necks so again are at special risk here).

And some wing cappers really don't work with them at all.

At the very least, try a few full of water and see if they leak at all; ideally, fill one with seltzer or soda, cap it, put it in the fridge, and see if it's still got some gas 2 days later.

whats up with those non screw top bottles you have to pry and when you look at them they have those screw threads in them? Ive had several beers like this are they ok to cap? Boulevard Brewing for example. There nutcracker ale is super good by the way
