I was able to snag a small 1 gallon carboy from a friend and it looks like it's been sitting for 20 years. It has some gunk in the bottom of it. Not really big particles just the glass on the bottom has smears of whatever was in the carboy a long time ago. It's ALMOST clean I've tried everything, the wire brush doesnt get that far down inside, I can see threw the carboy, its like a white fog on the lining of the bottle. I've used bleach and other cleaning products but I just can't get it to wipe off.

I guess my questions is can I use it? If I've done everything to clean it and sanitize before used will it be okay?

Have you tried...

That's what most of us use.

I made a new sign in honor of this...:D

you can also try some barkeeper's friend, which is quite good at removing minerals and junk as well.
