Ok, Im jumping head first into this partial mash situation and Im hoping someone can double check that my recipe looks ok.

I used the trial promash to adjust it from another HBTer's creation--- O'Daniels Foreign Extra stout. This is my warm up for the extra large abyss clone deathbrewer helped me with... something a little smaller to get my feet wet with.

I just want to make sure i didnt horribly screw something up while stumbling through promash-- (although, it seems pretty self-explanatory).

here's what I have:

whew.. I think thats everything. Damn near have this thing memorized after writing it down 3 times (dont want to use up my free saves on the promash demo :D).

Any suggestions/comments/concerns/help/etc. is/are very much appreciated.

I go to buy ingredients tomorrow.

I think you've got a LOT of flaked grains there, pushing 30% of the grist. I really don't think you need to exceed 10-15%. In fact, I highly recommend choosing one flaked grain only. In this case, I'd go with flaked barley at the stated level and omit the flaked oats and flaked wheat.

Other than that, it looks pretty good!

Cheers,

Bob

Thanks for the suggestion bob...I was thinking about simplifying it anyway... hows this look?

did it with beersmith this time... lost the extract so its now all grain, dropped the extra flaked stuff and fiddled around with the hops.

Thanks again bob, appreciate the help.

sub-zero,
wasnt able to get the goldings or the challenger, so I subbed fuggles and northern brewer respectively. I had to make adjustments already so changing it a little more before I brew wont be a big deal.

so I have 2oz fuggles and 2oz northern brewer...

how about:
1.0 oz Northern Brewer x60 min
2.0 oz Fuggles x40 min
0.5 oz Northern Brewer x30 min
0.5 oz Northern Brewer x5 min

or, should I split up the fuggles and use a half oz to finish?
what is your suggestion on a better hop schedule?

thoughts?

Yeah I would move some fuggles to 5min to. if you plug in the numbers I wouldn't think it wouldn't make a big difference in ibu's if you moved the northern to 40min 1oz of fuggle to 30 and the other oz to 5min. Just a thought. By all means though do your own thing man I'm sure it will come out great
