I've finally saved up some dough, and I'm considering getting a Ferminator.

Is there a problem with fermenting 5-6 gal batches with a 14 gal?

To me it seems, for the $40 or so difference from the 7 gal to the 14 gal.
just go ahead and get the 14gal in case I would like to brew a 10gal batch sometime down the road.

according to their web site there is no problems... i would get the larger one, the only thing is the airlock may not bubble because of all the head space, but the beer will still be covered in a blanket of Co2

The only other consideration would be the space it takes up, esp. if you are putting it in a temp controlled environment.

I already have a fridge ready for the fermenator...so temp control not a prob.

Warrior.. how has previous 5 gal batches worked for you.

And is the tri-clamp system that necessary? I mean, worth the extra $200.. I'm pretty hard core about cleaning/sanitizing so I don't mind the extra work cleaning the stock fittings...

Thanks for every ones insight.
