It sounds like you'll probably have to do something about the gap between the false bottom edge and the kettle wall. Those false bottoms were tailor made for specific kettles, so they won't be "perfect" for your kettle.

You might be able to take a length of 1/2" silicon tubing and slice it down one side to make a large gasket that you can wrap around the edge of the false bottom and then slide that all down into the kettle.
 
If I were spending over $200 dollars on a kettle / false bottom setup I would want it to fit together perfectly.
 
If you plan on using that as a mash tun and a boil kettle I would suggest buying a cooler to convert. I started out using the same vessel for mashing and boiling. It was a PITA. Coolers can be had for cheap and manifolds can built out of pex which is super easy to work with.
