I won't be able to make it. My wife is leaving for a deployment on the 18th, so the timing sucks. Plus, Dude had to back out, the price of gas, etc. etc. etc. Sucks, because I was really lookin forward to it, but hopefully things work out better next year. Odds are, though, I'll be in the desert myself! It's always something.

No, but I figured at this point the hotel was all booked up. I just cancelled my reservation, so now there's a room available that's close to the conference. Pertinent info is in my original post. :D
 
Just to let you know, once you cancel your reservation, the spot goes to the next person on the waiting list that's already in place, not the next person to call the hotel.
