Brewed this tonight with the help of Rdwj and his BIL, Brian.

I'm going to dryhop with probably .25 -.5 oz of Sorachi's in the secondary. Not bad for the eff. I was shooting for 75%.

I've never used Sorachi hops, but in my AIPA I use 3 oz of hops in the secondary. I guess it depends on how strong you want that hop aroma.

I just used SA for the first time in the second batch of my variation on Ed's pale. Went cascade at 60, simcoe at 30 and 20, then 5 small additions of sorachi during the last 15 mins. Just racked it to secondary, and it tastes AWESOME. Much better than the previous all-cascade version (which itself was great). I don't get much of the lemon or pith that bird tasted. I'd recommend this hop for an IPA any day.

Whadaya think of this for a dryhop schedule:

.25 oz of Sorachi,
.5 oz of Cascade
.5 oz of Amarillo

I'm thinking of adding this all to the secondary over the upcoming weekend.

Never DH'ed with Amarillo, but I always like cascade...and have had good luck with sorachi on my lastest pale ale.

Transfered it last night. The sample I took was DELICIOUS!!!

Dry Hopped with:

.49 oz Cascade
.51 oz Amarillo
.25 oz Sorachi Ace

The 1056 did a NUMBER on my wort! I lost one whole gallon to cold break and yeast. I've never seen that much trub in my bucket.

Tried my first glass of flat, semi-cold AIPA.

WONDERFUL.

Very nice.

Can't wait till it's proper. This may become the house IPA.

why did you boil your highest alpha acid the least? seems like the amarillo should have been used as aroma.

I don't like bitter beers, I like beers with hop aroma and flavor.

I did a Loose Cannon clone and dry-hopped with Amarillo and Cascade and it's by far my best beer yet.

Definitely one I'll continually try to keep on-tap.
