Hops in Jamul, CA

Hi all. Instead of hijacking someones thread and posting my own pics, I decided to start my own. I will likely use it as a blog of sorts through the year.

So any how, I pre-ordered from Northwest Hops in December. I ordered 2 each of Magnum, Cascade, Hallertau, Willamette and Nugget. Last week I sent an email to get the status on my order. Turns out they could not harvest rhizomes from the Magnum and Hallertau because they were too young. So I switched those to Galena and Mt. Hood.

I got them Thursday, and planted them Friday. Here are some pics....

SO I have just about finished my trellis. I drove two 10' old well pipes several feet into the ground. Then bolted a 21' well pipe onto each. There is a pulley at the top of each, and a boat trailer winch mounted on each. I can lower the main cable to secure coir to it. The main cable is at about 21'

Just a quick update. I planted the rhizomes on 3/17/12. It is less than two weeks later and I have 7 out of 10 with shoots so far. One Galena, one Cascade, both Mt. Hoods, one Willamette and both Nuggets.

Thats Bad ass Nice work!! your defiantly going to be making some IPAS in the fall.. :mug:

Thank you much! Yep, as long as I yield something it going in a brew, probably either a Halloween or more likely a Thanksgiving brew. Hmm... I'm growing Fat Max pumpkins this year. Maybe a pumpkin brew with homegrown pumpkin and hops!
