Beer gas

Thinking I might get a stout setup for Christmas. Anybody know where to get a tank filled with beer gas in DFW area? I searched google and didn't turn up anything promising. Sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find a previous thread either. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check for welding supply businesses. That's where I get mine filled, or exchanged at.

I'm unfamiliar with airgas, why is it a worst case alternative?

Ditto. The welding supply near me does mine. They usually do exchanges but I have a weird size tank so they refill it. It usually takes a few days to get it back.

If you keg aleady, check where you get your CO2, they may have beergas. If you don't keg already you might want to pick a CO2 tank too. I carb up my stouts with CO2 and then just hook them up to beergas to serve.

Ill check with the place I get my co2. I keg already and will just serve on the beer gas. Thanks for the responses.

My experience with various AirGas outlets across the country has been that their service is generally very good, but they tend to run at the higher end of the price range in any given area for pretty much anything they sell. So I recommend shopping around and not just heading straight to the closest AirGas - unless price isn't an issue, of course...

Any updates to this? I am in the same boat and live in Plano. My CO2 place is a fire extinguisher supply, so doesn't do other gases.

Hmmm you mean people pay money for beer gas? And all this time, I've just been letting mine out into the atmosphere!!! :drunk:

Try Red Ball Oxygen in Grand Prairie they filled my 23.7cu foot tank for $22.50.

So you had them fill a nitrogen tank I guess? Will they fill a CO2 tank with beer gas?

Good question, I don't know. I found out the hard way that my N2 cylinder is too small, or at least I need a backup. Get a bigger bottle than you think you will need. Let me know if you find out if they will fill a co2 bottle with beergas.
