Hello guys,
I recently made a program, where you could log your brewing process.
This software isn't like beersmith or others, where u can calculate mash temperatures and stuff, it's just an easy program to keep track of the beers you have made.

Some pictures:
Here's the main menu listing all the beers you've made, with according dates:

U can read notes about your beer:

See pictures:

And statistics:

How to use Beer logger v1.0?

  • Download according version(more info in requirements)to your computer and extract the rar where you want to.
When you run the program, it creates two dirs : "Beers" and "Pictures", also two textfiles maintaning information about your beers, so no worries.
  • Beer adding
    Select Menu->Add new Beer
Fill the data and click "Add".
After that a .rtf file with your beer name is made in the "Beers" folder, there u can modify the file and write notes in there, the program reads all the text from the rtf file
and displays it next time you run it in the notes section.
  • Picture adding
Click on a beer in the beer log and go to the pictures tab.Now go Menu->Add picture, select the picture you want to and click open.
After that the picture is kind of stretched out(default size 500x500).
Now we need to fit it nicely,so go Menu->Change picture size.
Adjust the two sliders, until you've got the result you think is good and press Ok.You've just added a picture to your beer!
  • Statistics tab
Here you can change OG,FG of your beer, and it displays the ABV.You can also see how long the beer has been in the bottle.
-To change OG or FG click on Change and then manually type in the fields the information you have, e.g OG: 1.043 FG: 1.006, then click Save.
You may wonder what does the "No beer" and "Bottle" buttons do.Well, if you have a beer in the log, and press "Bottle", it adds the current date to the beers information, so everytime you check a certain beer, u can see how long it's been bottled from that date. The "No beer" button is basically meant for clicking, when you've ran out of beer on some random date, then you click "No beer" and the "Days bottled" field wont change anymore.
  • Modifying info from text files
If you want to add beers that you've made before, then you cant use the "Bottle" and "No beer" buttons, therefore when you've added the beer to the system, u need to change the dates from the textfile.
For example, opening the Homebrew.txt u can see something like :
    1;Custom beer;24.07.2012;2.07.2012;0.0;0.0;29.09.2012
The first date is the bottling date, second one is the brewing date and the last one is the date when you've ran out of the beer, so u can modify them at your will.
